Taste of the Arts, presented by Arts United and 3Rivers Credit Union, announced today the return of the art market and plein air event at the 2024 festival. This year, Fort Wayne HeART of the City will host the art market, and the Northern Indiana Plein Air Artists Association will host the plein air event.

Fort Wayne HeART of the City supports local artists through networking and events that support the creative community. HeART of the City at Taste is a curated creative marketplace featuring local art and handmade goods. Applications are open now for artist booths.

“We are excited to support the annual Taste of the Arts Festival and local visual artists through HeART of the City at Taste,” said Daniel Church, board member of Fort Wayne HeART of the City.

Northern Indiana Plein Air Artists Association will host “Paint it Fresh! The Fort Wayne Plein Air Paint Out and Sale” from August 22 – 24, 2024. Artists will create paintings over the course of three days at various locations across Fort Wayne and Allen County, which will be judged and available for sale at the festival. A Quick Draw competition will take place  in downtown New Haven beginning at 4 pm on Friday night. Registration is open for plein air participants.

“The Paint It Fresh! The Fort Wayne Plein Air Paint Out and Sale will showcase more than 40 regional artists at the Taste of the Arts Festival,” said David Broerman, president of the Northern Indiana Plein Air Artists Association. “New this year, with support from the Amplify Art grant, we will feature two nationally acclaimed artists demonstrating during the festival: Mary Ann Davis of Indianapolis, Indiana and Susan B. Ritter of Toledo, Ohio.”
