Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne announced today that the capital campaign goal for the Arts United Center expansion and modernization has been met. In October 2023, Arts United announced a fundraising goal of $40 million to complete the project. Thanks to the generous support of the community, Arts United exceeded that goal by raising a total of $41.5 million.
“We are deeply thankful for the significant investment by the community in the expansion and modernization of the Arts United Center,” said Dan Ross, President and CEO of Arts United. “The strong commitment by both the public and private sectors indicates the value our community places on arts, culture, and quality of place in the lives of our citizens.”
Through new building additions, focus on accessibility features, and cutting-edge technology upgrades, this historic community theatre designed by world-renowned architect Louis Kahn will provide an exceptional theater experience for performers, volunteers, patrons, and employees of all abilities. New elevators and lobby spaces, advanced theatrical technology, and enhanced patron amenities will create opportunities for greater access and functionality.
The grand reopening of the Arts United Center was also announced for October 25, 2025. The public is invited to join a celebration of arts and culture and experience the Arts United Center’s elevated offerings. More information about the event will be available closer to the event date.
While the capital campaign has concluded, Arts United encourages the community to Sponsor A Seat in the Arts United Center to support the continued operations and arts and cultural programming in the venue. A gift of $1,000 will be honored with a custom seating plaque in the newly restored auditorium.
