Arts United announced accessibility information for the 2024 Taste of the Arts Festival. Sponsored by AWS Foundation, this addition will help Arts United to ensure that the Taste of the Arts Festival is an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible experience for festival participants and community members.

A quiet zone will be located inside Fort Wayne Museum of Art upstairs in the Overlook Room and inside the classroom space of Artlink inside the Auer Center for Arts & Culture. Attendees can visit the quiet zone if they need a break from the sound and activity featured in other parts of the festival. Additionally, My Autism Ally will host a sensory tent on Berry Street near Clay Street.

Shuttle service will be provided by CTN around the festival, running continuously during the event. Accessible parking will be available in the Auer Center for Arts & Culture parking lot.

Sensory-friendly kits are available upon request for attendees to borrow and keep with them as they navigate the different areas of the festival at the two Taste of the Arts information tents. Contents include noise-reducing headphones in both adult and children’s sizes or noise-reducing earbuds.

High-volume performances are noted on stage schedule signs, brochures, and online. These performances are likely to have a high level of sound. Attendees may need to be prepared with noise-reducing equipment or choose to avoid this particular performance.

Sign language interpreters will be featured at select performances for those with auditory disabilities. These performances will be noted on stage schedule signs, brochures, and online.

Additionally, six performances at this year’s festival feature performers of diverse abilities in different performing art forms.
