Arts United announced today that PNC Bank will sponsor the 2022 Fall Cycle of Amplify Art, a crowdfunding-based grant program designed to support arts and culture projects in Northeast Indiana. Amplify Art relies on support from the community through social media advocacy and donations. PNC Bank will match every gift made through the month-long campaign dollar for dollar up to $1,000 per project.

“Amplify Art provides a unique opportunity to empower emerging and diverse artists and be recognized by their community for their creativity and innovation,” said Corinna Ladd, PNC Regional President of northern Indiana. “The arts play a critical role in generating enriching experiences, while contributing to our local economy. PNC is excited to renew our commitment to help build a stronger, more vibrant arts community for our region.”

PNC has had a decades-long history of supporting Arts United, including last year’s launch of the redesigned  Amplify Art program. The redesign opened up accessibility for applicants who are individual artists without a fiscal agent or 501(c)3 nonprofit status. Last Fall, Amplify Art helped fund five innovative and socially transformative projects: kinetic wind sculptures in downtown Churubusco, Fort Wayne Civic Theatre’s Theatre Arts Day, a temporary art installation at the historic Gene Stratton-Porter site in Rome City by Cat People Press, a film competition by Summit City Cinephiles, and Purdue University Fort Wayne School of Music’s UnSung exhibition.

Applications for the fall cycle will open in Summer 2022 and are due August 1, 2022. Selected projects will be announced in September. The crowdfunding campaign will begin Monday, October 4 and conclude Friday, October 28.

Amplify Art is a competitive grant program. Due to available grant funding, a maximum of five projects will be selected for the Fall 2021 cycle. Priority will be given to the following:

  • New projects
  • Projects led by or involving BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) artists
  • Projects located in underserved communities within Northeast Indiana
  • Projects with a total budget less than $5,000

Through the Amplify Art program, Arts United proactively increases the community’s access to diverse, innovative, and compelling creative experiences.
