Paul E. Westlake Jr. is Managing Principal and a Lead Designer of Westlake Reed Leskosky. Mr. Westlake is one of the youngest architects to be elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects and is the recipient of the AIA Ohio Gold Medal and the Cleveland Arts Prize. His designs encompass a range of widely exhibited and published projects-from major performing and cultural arts complexes and healthcare facilities, to historic restorations, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, and residences. His projects have been recognized with more than 150 significant design awards, including several National Trust for Historic Preservation Honor Awards and a GSA Design Excellence Award for Preservation.
Mr. Westlake’s significant work and clients include: the Coronado Theatre, the Phoenix Orpheum Theatre, the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre at the Denver Arts Complex, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, and the Idea Center at Playhouse Square, the National Park Service, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Mr. Westlake has been selected as Lead Designer of several GSA Design Excellence projects, notably the award-winning rehabilitation.
