Arts Campus Fort Wayne is a destination—the heart of arts and culture in our region. It’s a place we go to connect with others. We come back here again and again, knowing that we’ll always find something different, captivating, and interactive.

It’s a center for creative vitality, uplifting our region’s economic health, alongside its soul. We create more than art when we’re here. We make memories. We collaborate, learn, and grow. Expect a one-of-a-kind experience at Arts Campus Fort Wayne. Colorful, fearless, and innovative. Here, we build each other up. We believe in bold ideas–and ourselves. Every experience, every person, every day: creativity for everyone. GO. MAKE. BELIEVE.

“These organizations of the arts, when they come together to be a single center – does it mean that something new is born? I looked for the nature of the combination, and I realized that it does…simply by their being together rather than being apart.”

Louis Kahn, c. 1962. Architect for the Arts United Center and the original designer of the campus for the arts.

It all started with a vision in 1958, when our community leaders recognized a need for the arts. World-renowned architect Louis Kahn was hired, and he devised a plan for a multi-venue cultural complex. In 1973, the Arts United Center was opened as the only building realized of the original vision and the only performing arts theater designed by Louis Kahn in the world. Later on, more buildings would come about to join our cultural district including: Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Auer Center for Arts & Culture, The History Center, Parkview Physicians Group ArtsLab, Hall Community Arts Center, and Alexander T. Rankin House.

The organizations that are here contribute to an ever-evolving, centrally located cultural district provides a one-of-a-kind experience.
