Arts United and several partners have launched a survey to better understand how our community perceives of the quality of life of Northeast Indiana.
Arts United seeks input from a wide range of people in Northeast Indiana to help understand what connects people to our region and community. All responses are confidential.
The online survey is available from August 22, 2016 to September 12, 2016.
In 2015, Arts United initiated a community wide planning initiative to align the creative sector with broad community goals. The Cultural Advancement Committee, comprised of approximately 30 community leaders and chaired by Chuck Surack, president and founder of Sweetwater, developed a Platform for Cultural Advancement aligning and connecting arts, culture and quality of life in Greater Fort Wayne.
One of the key outcomes of the Platform was the recognition of the need for greater access to arts and cultural opportunities, including the need for access to information about events in our community. In response to this need, a task force was organized of marketing and communication leaders from Arts United, Visit Fort Wayne, Greater Fort Wayne, Inc., Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Downtown Improvement District, City of Fort Wayne, and several corporate marketing leaders. The task force seeks to understand what connects people to our community and use that information in shaping a common message about the role of arts and culture in developing our region as a vibrant place.
The Quality of Life Survey was developed by the task force to help inform its work. Arts United is coordinating the efforts of the task force, and will share the results of the survey and the committee’s work with arts organizations, government agencies, and economic development partners to cooperatively advance our region’s quality of life.
