Three Projects Chosen for May Session of Amplify Art!


FORT WAYNE, IN – Arts United announces three projects selected for the Spring Cycle of Amplify Art!, a crowdfunding campaign platform designed to support arts and culture projects in northeast Indiana, from May 1-31, 2017.

  • Cinema Center will host their block party, “Blocknobben,” at their second annual Hobnobben Film Festival.
  • Middle Waves Music Festival will amp up the “Vibe” at the second annual destination music festival.
  • Vincent Village will provide an Art Lab to homeless families in their programs.

Amplify Art! is a crowdfunding program that mobilizes community support for and awareness of diverse creative projects, relying on social media advocacy and small contributions from a large number of donors. Each Amplify Art! campaign takes place over one month. Donations can be made at Each project is seeded with $1,000 from Arts United. Donations for each project from community members are matched dollar for dollar up to $1,500 with support from a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Previous projects funded by the Amplify Art! program include Artlink’s Crosswalk Murals and North Anthony Boulevard Mural, Cinema Center’s Portable Screen, Fort Wayne Museum of Art’s Alzheimer’s Tour, Summer Nights at the Embassy, Riverfront Fort Wayne’s Faces of the Fort, Weather the Fort, and more.

“In four rounds of Amplify Art!, this community has leveraged $55,080 for diverse and accessible arts and culture projects. Arts United is privileged to provide a platform that empowers community members to get involved and have a say in the projects they want to see happen,” said Dan Ross, Vice President of Community Development.

Through the Amplify Art! program, Arts United proactively increases the community’s access to diverse, innovative, and compelling creative experiences.
