Artlink to host a fine art fair and Wet Paint auction at Arts United’s Taste of the Arts Festival- Saturday, August 29

(Fort Wayne, Indiana) Each year, Arts United hosts Taste of the Arts, a dynamic regional festival featuring music, dance, fine arts, theatre, film, crafts, culture, history, and local restaurant food. It is a family-friendly showcase of local talent and a chance to participate in a wide variety of engaging and entertaining activities.
New for this year, Artlink will host the Wet Paint Auction. Over 20 top local artists will be painting and drawing in and around the Fort Wayne arts campus from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Their completed, wet artwork will be auctioned off at Artlink beginning at 2 p.m. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Artlink. Some of the artists who will be painting in this event include: Norm and Dixie Bradley, David Broerman, Anette Colgrove, Pat Delagrange, Paul Demaree, Suzanne Galazka, Diane Groenert, Jerry Hertenstein, Jim Jur, Don Osos, Bill Shewman, Becky Stockert, Barb Yoder, and more.
Artlink’s Annual Wet Paint Auction is a family friendly event. The artists will have their easels set up all over the downtown arts district (which includes the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Freimann Square, and the Auer Center) and the public is invited to watch them create. Silent bids may be made all morning at Artlink in the Auer Center for Arts & Culture on Main Street, but most of the bidding will take place after the artists bring their wet artwork to the gallery at 2:00 p.m. Bidding ends at 3:00 p.m., and winners can then take their wet masterpieces home.
Artlink will also host Fort Artisan during Taste of the Arts. Fort Artisan is a celebration of contemporary craft, featuring handmade goods made my local artists. Nineteen artists have been juried in to this fine arts fair and will hosts booths along Main Street in front of the Auer Center for Arts & Culture from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
These arts and crafts will be available to buy at Fort Artisan: Stoneware by Linn Bartling and Carolina Forman; wood art by Rhonda Inman, Allan Longroy,Thomas Pabst andBill Steffen; fiber and wearable art by Jane Ann Steiner, and textilesby Leigha Vandezande; paper-folding by Christine Calhoun; watercolors by Justin Hettler andNicole Moore, and acrylic painting by Alexandra Hall; jewelry by Mackenzie Brockhaus, Nancy Jacobs, and Creative Women of the World, along with Susan Stamm’s copper and gemstones; mixed media collage by Dale White; drawings by CAD artist Monte Ellson; and photography by Rick Reiff.
